LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Police have asked for a high bond after arresting a 20-year-old man they say was carrying a loaded gun when he fought with officers.

According to the arrest report, police noticed James A. Moore loitering in the 400 block of south 11th Street where no loitering signs were clearly posted. When officers approached Moore, he started walking away, and forcibly pulled away when an officer tried to stop him.

That's when police say Moore reached into his right coat pocket, ignoring orders to stop resisting. As the two struggled, one officer could feel a metallic object in Moore's pocket which he "immediately recognized as a handgun."

After officers subdued Moore, they found a small bag of marijuana in his left hand. They confiscated the pot along with a black .25 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Police say Moore continued his aggressiveness as he was being taken to jail, kicking the rear driver side window.

He's charged with loitering, disorderly conduct, fleeing, resisting arrest, possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed deadly weapon and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
