Louder Than Life 2022 Day 1

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Things will be pretty loud at the Kentucky Expo Center this week.

Louder Than Life has returned to Louisville for the 7th year.

The music festival opened its gates at the Highland Festival Grounds on Thursday for four days of rock and metal music.

Thousands of people showed up to see Nine Inch Nails headline the festival on its first day.

Big names like Slipknot, Kiss and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will all play this weekend.

Fans are excited that the festival is back in action.

"I love crowds, I love concerts," Thomas Irwin said. "I go to shows all over the country, festivals all over the country. Look at all these beautiful people, local food, bourbon, you couldn't ask for anything better."

Organizers are expecting a massive crowd this year.

More than 140,000 people attended last weekend's Bourbon and Beyond festival.

Tickets are still available online.
