LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- With parents having to worry about getting their kids school supplies and new clothes, a local business took one worry off their hands: a haircut.

On Monday, the Campus Barber Shop teamed up with radio station B 96.5 FM to give free haircuts to the first 96 young men through the door.

J. Alexander, owner of the Campus Barber Shop, says his mother struggled when he was young, so he wanted to give back and help out other parents.

"What haircuts do for individuals is provide hope," he said. "We alter your outer appearance to enhance your inner confidence, so you feel good about yourself."

J. Alexander's non-profit group, Urban Barbers of Louisville, also provides free haircuts to the homeless several times each year.
