LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The Louisville Bats welcomed families to Slugger Field to celebrate the holidays on Saturday.
The minor league baseball team held its annual Breakfast with Santa event at the baseball stadium in downtown Louisville.
There were two time slots for families to choose from. Guests had buffet-style breakfast in the Bats locker room. There was cookie decorating and ornament crafting.
Mandy P McKenzie, director of events at Louisville Slugger Field, said it's the third year the team has hosted the event.
"Kids are having a great time here," McKenzie said. "What makes this unique is you can have breakfast with Santa in our clubhouse, it's one of the only opportunities for families and kids to come to our clubhouse."
Children got to take a photo with Santa Claus.
On Friday, Dec. 1, the holiday festivities kick off with the start of the 12 days of Batsmas. Louisville Bats fans can enjoy two weeks of promotions, giveaways and sales. Each day, there will be special offers for Louisville Bats fans with details of each days' offers on the Louisville Bats social media platforms.
Opening Night 2024 is scheduled for Friday, March 29 as the Louisville Bats host the Indianapolis Indians at 7:15 p.m.
