LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Louisville Metro Emergency Medial Services (LMEMS) is looking for the next class of Emergency Medial Technicians (EMTs), and offering incentives for new hires. 

On Thursday, LMEMS announced applications are now being accepted for EMT recruits. No prior experience in emergency medical services is required. Applicants must be 18 years old, have a valid driver's license, a high school diploma or GED and no felony convictions. 

After the application process, EMTs will go through a four-month paid training class, receiving $15.91 an hour. Applicants must pass a drug test and polygraph test to be eligible for the class.

The hiring process includes an information session, written and physical agility testing, a panel interview and a medial examination. After successful certification, EMTs will be given full-time employment starting at $18.34 an hour and an $8,000 hiring incentive, paid in installments.
