LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Congressman Morgan McGarvey is calling for a federal investigation into a Louisville apartment complex for seniors.
McGarvey said American Village Apartments in the Jacobs neighborhood is home to more than 200 low-income seniors.
In a letter, McGarvey said he's personally seen the unsafe living conditions at the apartment complex.
He said he saw apartments infested with bugs and evidence of rodents, cockroaches and mold.
McGarvey accused Capital Realty Group of violating multiple HUD regulations and urged HUD secretary Scott Turner to launch a full investigation.
American Village is home to more than 200 low-income seniors, many of whom are disabled.

Undignified and unsafe living conditions are unacceptable — especially when landlords use taxpayer money to create these squalid conditions.
