LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A Nebraska man was arrested after more than 50 pounds of meth was allegedly found wrapped as holiday gifts in Jeffersontown.

In a social media post, Jeffersontown Police said 23-year-old Jacob Talamantes was arrested Monday during a narcotics investigation in the 11500 block of Bluegrass Parkway.

Police said the drugs were found in Talamantes' vehicle after he arrived at the location.

According to court documents, he told police that he was traveling from Iowa to traffic the meth.

Talamantes is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, Dec. 24 and his bond was set at $2,500.

"No amount of festive wrapping can disguise the harm these drugs inflict on families and communities," Jeffersontown Police Chief Richard Sanders said in a statement. "The coordinated efforts of partner agencies ensured these holiday-wrapped packages never reached the streets."
