LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — The first day of the two-month Interstate 65 closure brought more than traffic changes for some Louisville drivers.
Louisville Metro Police said at least four crashes involving large trucks were reported Monday at low-clearance overpasses along 3rd Street near Winkler Avenue and Eastern Parkway.

The overpasses are already notorious in the city, often referred to by locals as Louisville's "can opener" because of the oversized trucks that occasionally get wedged under the bridges. While similar crashes have happened before, multiple incidents reported in a single day stood out Monday.
The crashes came as many drivers searched for alternate routes while the five-mile stretch of I-65 undergoes construction this summer.
LMPD said no one was injured during the incidents.
