LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Danny Gargan was raised in Louisville, right around the corner from Churchill Downs.
He is the trainer for Dornoch and Society Man, who are both competing in Derby 150. And he's looking forward to the race, hoping of capturing his first Derby win.
Dornoch has 20-1 odds and is in the 1st post position. He is a big and talented horse, Gargan said Tuesday and has been training phenomenally.
Society Man has 50-1 odds and is coming out of the 20th post position. Gargan said he is always happy and has been training well.
"Being from America, it's the No. 1 race in the world for us," Gargan said. "Almost all horse trainers aspire to get to the Kentucky Derby. To win one would be a blessing and a miracle.
The last time Gargan had a horse in the Derby was 2019, with Tax, who finished 15th.
