LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- There are at least three different programs in Louisville right now to help people afford their own homes.
One of those is the REVERT Program.
The goal is to combat the injustices of families who experienced redlining when they're refused a loan.
More than 200 families will get up to $50,000 to buy, renovate or update homes.
"If your dream is to become a homeowner, don't give up. Keep going. Keep pushing," homeowner Kimberly Burns said. "I didn't think that I would be eligible and, by God's grace, I was given the opportunity to receive funds from (the) Louisville Metro Down Payment Assistance Program and from REVERT."
City leaders are also trying to make more people aware of the Down Payment Assistance Program. Low-income homebuyers in Louisville can get money for down payments and closing costs.
