LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A popular Nulu spot for all things Derby is moving to a bigger new location.
Melissa Huff started Mamili in 2020, right before the pandemic shutdown, as a boutique to sell women and men's fashions and her Derby hat creations.
The hat portion of the business began to grow so she moved her studio to a space behind Mamili called Mad Hatter 502.
This year she helped style the Kentucky Derby Festival royal court for a cover shoot for Today's Woman Magazine Derby issue, and she is also styling the KDF queen and princesses for Oaks day.
Huff said Derby season kept her busy before the move, and customers can stop by for all their last minute Derby needs.
"I feel like there will be so much more to the outfits, definitely to the headpieces. You know, it's the 150th Derby," Huff said. "So I feel like ladies will want to go even bigger and more fashionable -- they want to stand out for this Derby."
Now, as a two time Kentucky Derby Featured Milliner, she's taking her business to a bigger space at 3929 Chenoweth Square off of Westport Road. She expects to make the move this summer.
