LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A man is dead after a head-on crash in Nelson County.

On Saturday about 3:20 a.m., Kentucky State Police said they received a call from Kentucky Fish and Wildlife about a deadly crash involving two vehicles near the 6900 block of Bloomfield Road in Bardstown.

Police said in a release 22-year-old Gavin Sims was driving a Ford F-150 when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason and hit a Ford Fusion driven by 34-year-old John Cecil head-on.

Police said Cecil died at the scene.

Sims and several passengers were taken to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police are now waiting on toxicology and autopsy reports, and the investigation is ongoing.
