LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A man died at the hospital Monday, two days after he crashed into a tree in Jeffersontown.

It happened around 5:55 p.m. Saturday, in the 10800 block of Easum Road, according to a news release from Louisville Metro Police. That's near Billtown Road and Chenoweth Run Road in Jeffersontown, which is not far from Charlie Vettiner Park.

After interviewing witnesses at the scene, the LMPD Traffic Unit determined the victim was eastbound on Easum Road when he lost control of the vehicle after entering a curve in the road. The vehicle veered off the road and hit a tree head-on. The victim was wearing a seatbelt, according to the release.

Jeffersontown EMS and Fire responded to the scene, and the victim was taken to UofL Health Hospital in Louisville with critical injuries. That's where he was pronounced dead on June 30.

The man's name hasn't been released.
