LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — One person is dead after a crash on Interstate 264 West on Sunday.
John Bradley, a spokesperson for Louisville Metro Police, said officers responded to I-264 West at Algonquin Parkway at 7:20 a.m. on a reported injury crash involving a van and motorcycle.
Bradley said the driver of the motorcycle was traveling west at a high rate of speed, was thrown from the motorcycle and hit a guardrail on the north side of the road. Bradley said the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
I-264 West was closed for several hours and reopened around 11 a.m.
LMPD Traffic Unit is still investigating.
