LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- A large fire burned three homes in the Russell neighborhood on Monday night.

According to Louisville Fire spokesperson Donovan Sims, crews received a call at 11:05 p.m. of a possible abandoned house fire in the 2600 block of W Jefferson Street.

Upon arrival, fire officials found three residential structures on fire.

According to Sims, a call for extra support was needed within minutes of being on scene due to the extensive blaze.

Fire crews used defensive operations to battle the fire. It took 60 firefighters around one hour to control the blaze.

No injuries were reported from the scene.

LFD Arson is investigating the cause of the fire.
