LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Braden Frager scored 21 points off the bench to lead four Nebraska players in double figures and the 12th-ranked Cornhuskers beat Maryland 74-61. The Huskers improved to 24-4 overall and 13-4 in the Big Ten. That matches their program record for conference wins and moves them into a tie for second place with Illinois. Pryce Sandfort made a couple big 3-pointers late and finished with 16 points. Andre Mills had 16 of his 19 points in the second half for Maryland and Elijah Saunders scored all 15 of his points on a career-high five 3s.
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Nate Bittle scored 20 points, Takai Simpkins added 17, and Oregon beat Wisconsin 85-71. Oregon (11-17, 4-13 Big Ten) has won back-to-back games and three of four following a 10-game skid. Kwame Evans Jr. had 16 points and a season-high tying four blocks and Wei Lin added 13 points for the Ducks. Wisconsin set the program’s single-game record with 45 3-point attempts.
IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Bennett Stirtz had 22 points on 8-of-11 shooting, Alvaro Folgueiras made 8 of 10 from the field and had a season-high 20 points and five assists, and Iowa beat Ohio State 74-57. Cam Manyawu had 12 points for Iowa (20-8, 10-7 Big Ten) and Tavion Banks scored 10 points. The Hawkeyes shot 57% (27 of 47) from the field and made 15 of 17 from the free-throw line. Amare Bynum made back-to-back 3-pointers to give Ohio State a 14-2 lead, but Folgueiras answered with a three-point play and, after Devin Royal made a free throw, the Hawkeyes scored 18 consecutive points — eight by Stirtz — to start a 28-3 run. Devin Royal led Ohio State (17-11, 9-8) with 16 points and John Mobley Jr. scored 15.
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Olivia Olson scored a career-high 31 points, including a driving jumper with 3.2 seconds remaining in overtime, to give No. 8 Michigan an 88-86 victory over 13th-ranked Ohio State. Ohio State’s Chance Gray hit a 30-footer on the ensuing trip down the floor, but the senior did not get her shot off until after the buzzer. Olson also had nine rebounds and four assists for Michigan, which set a program record for conference wins. Ohio State’s Jaloni Cambridge scored 22 points, including three free throws with 0.6 seconds remaining to send it into overtime,
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Oluchi Okananwa scored 25 points, surpassing 1,200 career points in the process, and No. 14 Maryland defeated Northwestern 79-57. Okananwa, one of four 1,000-point scorers on Maryland’s roster, now has 1,217 career points. The 17.4 points per game scorer has 51 points in the past two games. Northwestern was within eight points in the middle of the third quarter before Okananwa and Kyndal Walker each scored six points in a 12-2 run that gave the Terrapins a 63-45 lead heading to the final period. The lead reached 24 points four times in the fourth quarter. Maryland (23-6, 11-6 Big Ten) turned Northwestern’s 21 turnovers into 24 points. The Terps committed only six turnovers, leading to two points for Northwestern.
UNDATED (AP) — The Associated Press national player of the week in women’s basketball for Week 16 is Iowa's Ava Heiden. The sophomore center led No. 9 Iowa to wins over Nebraska, Purdue and Michigan last week, recording a double-double in each of the games. Madina Okot of No. 3 South Carolina was the runner-up. The senior center averaged 16.5 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks while helping the Gamecocks to a pair of Top 25 wins over Alabama and Ole Miss.
UNDATED (AP) — Arkansas freshman Darius Acuff Jr. is The Associated Press men’s college basketball national player of the week. That comes after the 6-foot-3 guard had 49 points in a 117-115 double-overtime loss at then-No. 25 Alabama. That set an Arkansas single-game freshman record as well as marking the most by a Razorbacks player in a Southeastern Conference game. BYU's AJ Dybantsa was runner-up. Dybantsa had 35 points in a loss to then-No. 4 Arizona. He also had 29 points while finishing an assist shy of a triple-double in a win against then-No. 6 Iowa State.
