UNDATED (AP) — Duke is No. 1 in The Associated Press men’s college basketball poll for the second straight week, extending its all-time record with the program’s 149th appearance in the top spot. The Blue Devils received 55 of 59 first-place votes. No. 2 Arizona received the other four. Michigan, UConn and Florida round out the top five. No. 19 Miami of Ohio, Division I’s only remaining undefeated team, climbed two spots for its highest ranking since reaching No. 12 in 1952-53.

UNDATED (AP) — UConn heads into the postseason undefeated and still the unanimous choice at No. 1 in The Associated Press women’s basketball Top 25. The Huskies, who have won 47 consecutive games, are 31-0 this season. They received all 31 first-place votes from a national media panel. The top seven teams remained unchanged this week with UCLA, South Carolina and Texas following the Huskies. Conference tournaments begin this week with less than two weeks before the NCAA brackets are set.

UNDATED (AP) — Indiana coach Curt Cignetti is cashing in on his first national championship run — even more than initially expected. Athletic department officials have announced the two-time national coach of the year signed a memorandum of understanding on an eight-year contract extension, paying him an annual average of $13.2 million — or an increase of about $1.6 million per year from what school officials initially said Cignetti would earn when he first agreed to the deal in October. The 64-year-old Cignetti's paycheck could be even higher if he cashes in on the bonus clauses.

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (AP) — Rutgers fired women’s basketball coach Coquese Washington after the Scarlet Knights ended the season with 11 straight losses and failed to win 10 games for the second time in three years. Washington was 42-84 overall and 11-61 in Big Ten play over four seasons. The Knights were 9-20 this season and their 1-17 Big Ten record was the worst in program history in conference play. Athletic director Keli Zinn says there's no reason the program cannot return to its place among the nation’s elite. Washington succeeded C. Vivian Stringer, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame member who retired in 2022.

UNDATED (AP) — The Elon Phoenix pulled off a rare double when the baseball team’s Aidan Stieglitz combined with two relievers for a no-hitter shortly after the softball team’s Anna Dew pitched a perfect game. Saturday’s gems put the 7,000-student private school in North Carolina in the spotlight as stat geeks pored through record books to see if or when a school had ever had two pitching performances of such magnitude occur on the same day. No one has come up with the answer, though ESPN reported it definitely hasn’t happened in the past three years.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) — No. 3 Michigan lost the best backup point guard in college basketball, according to coach Dusty May. L.J. Cason tore a knee ligament as the team clinched an outright Big Ten title with a win at No. 10 Illinois on Friday night. The Wolverines will certainly miss the smooth-shooting sophomore, who averaged 8.4 points and more than one 3-pointer per game. May says the injury will give guards an opportunity to play larger roles. Starting point guard Elliot Cadeau plays about 25 minutes a game, a number that may increase if he can avoid foul trouble.

UNDATED (AP) — Texas joined UConn, UCLA and South Carolina as No. 1 seeds in the women’s NCAA Tournament if it began now. The Longhorns replaced Vanderbilt as the fourth top seed in the second reveal by the NCAA basketball selection committee of teams in line for the top 16 seeds Sunday. Texas was a No. 2 seed in the initial reveal on Feb. 14. Undefeated UConn was still the overall No. 1, edging UCLA and South Carolina. Fifteen of the 16 teams from the first reveal were the same with Minnesota being the only new entrant. Ole Miss fell out.
