LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A family-owned business is expanding with a second location in Jeffersonville, according to our partners at Louisville Business First.

Shane Foster, owner of Borden Bargains, plans to open the store at 1414 E. 10th St. in April, taking over the space previously occupied by TC’s Bin Store. He will rent the 15,000-square-foot building for $4,000 a month and complete his own renovations on the space.

Borden Bargains purchases truckloads of overstock items through a broker, then sells the merchandise directly to customers — a business model they've followed since their first location opened in 2024.

Inventory includes a mix of new items like clothing, games and small appliances.

Items are placed in bins and priced at $10 to start, with prices dropping each day. Higher-value items are typically sold at about 50% off, and customers can also purchase "mystery pallets" for a set price.

"People will find that it’ll get down to just a dollar," Foster said. "There’s hardly any labor involved in this. All you gotta do is dump it in there and go."

Foster said the first truckload of inventory already arrived as he prepares the Jeffersonville location for opening.

He added that giving back to the community is a key part of the business and hopes to continue those efforts with the new store.

"There’s a lot of people in Jeffersonville that need help," Foster said. "I just give them everything I can."

By April, the Jeffersonville location is expected to open Wednesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
