LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — A Louisville murder suspect was back in court Friday morning after allegedly getting into multiple fights while behind bars.
Court records show 19-year-old Chance Guthrie is facing three new assault charges after police said he was involved in three separate fights at Louisville Metro Corrections. According to his arrest citation, the fights were caught on the jail's cameras.
Guthrie is currently being held while he awaits trial for his alleged involvement in the in the February shooting outside Club 7 in Shively, where police said he was one of five people involved in an "ambush-style" killing that left 26-year-old Rodney Parker dead and another man injured. About 60 shots were fired during what police said was a coordinated attack.
He is also charged in a separate September 2025 shooting in Louisville's Taylor Berry neighborhood. Police said Guthrie fired multiple shots at a man, hitting him in the foot, while riding in a stolen car with a second suspect.
And before that, in 2022, Guthrie was convicted of manslaughter in the 2021 shooting death of 14-year-old Darrin Thiele. Guthrie was also 14 years old at the time of that shooting. He served about four years in prison, much of it in a juvenile facility, before being transferred to an adult prison and released in late 2025.
