UNDATED (AP) — Former Georgia wide receiver Zachariah Branch was arrested over the weekend on two misdemeanor obstruction charges, just four days before the start of the NFL draft. According to the Athens-Clarke County jail log, Branch was released Sunday on a combined $39 bail on the charges of obstructing public sidewalks/streets and the obstruction of a law enforcement officer. The Athens-Clarke County Police released a statement to The Associated Press saying that police were summoned at about 12:20 a.m. because a large crowd had gathered outside an Athens bar and Branch didn't comply with verbal commands to disperse.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Florida center Rueben Chinyelu is entering the NBA Draft while maintaining his college eligibility. Chinyelu's announcement came five days after teammate and fellow big man Alex Condon said he is returning to the Gators for “one more.” Chinyelu still could end up teaming up with Condon and maybe small forward Thomas Haugh for a third consecutive season in Gainesville and another shot at a second national title. Chinyelu has until May 27 to decide whether to return to school or stay in the draft. The weeklong NBA scouting combine begins May 10 in Chicago and will provide Chinyelu feedback on his pro potential.

UNDATED (AP) — Establishing team chemistry in college football is tougher than ever with so many players not staying at the same school for four years. But it’s still doable. Succeeding in the transfer portal era requires altering offseason objectives. Players aren’t just getting to know the playbook. They’re getting to know one another. New Mexico provides a model example on how teams can build chemistry even after roster overhauls. The Lobos had 75 newcomers last year and still went 9-4 for their first winning season since 2016.

UNDATED (AP) — Nebraska's baseball team is putting together one of its best regular seasons in years. The Cornhuskers outscored a then-top 10 Southern California 36-15 with two run-rule victories in a three-game weekend sweep in Lincoln and have put themselves in strong position to host an NCAA regional for the first time since 2008. The sweep was Nebraska’s first against a ranked opponent since 2015. The Huskers already have matched their 2025 Big Ten win total of 15 with 12 conference games left. They are alone in second place behind UCLA and are No. 20 in the D1Baseball.com and Baseball America rankings.
