USPS price hikes

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- If you're sending something through the mail, it's going to cost you a bit more now.

The U.S. Post Office raised the prices on its stamps and shipping services on Sunday.

A first class one-ounce mail letter went up 55 cents. It's the largest hike since 1991, when postage increased from 25 cents to 29 cents.

Priority mail prices also jumped 5.9 percent, meaning a small box that previously cost $7.20 will now cost $7.90.
