LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Oldham County Police say 77-year-old Zarifa Malawi died in a crash on I-71 Thursday night.
The incident involved a Chrysler minivan and a tractor trailer. The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured, but several of the passengers in the van were injured.
Malawi was riding in the back of the minivan, which was carrying seven total passengers including the driver, 51-year-old Gus Malawi.
According to a press release, Police say the passengers in the van all live in Prospect. The passengers included five adults and two teenagers.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
Police say no criminal charges are expected at this time.
