LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Protestors filled Jefferson Square Park in downtown Louisville Thursday afternoon, speaking out against President Donald Trump's policies.
More than 1,000 "May Day" protests were planned across the country on International Workers Day.
Union workers and others came together to demonstrate against Trump's economic policies and support immigrant communities.
"I think Trump thinks he's all three branches of government, and Congress needs to step up and do their job," one protester said. "The courts are trying to do their job."
Despite public criticism, the White House stands firm that America's economy is strong.
"Under President Trump, there has never been a better time to invest in America, and the president finally said enough is enough and refuse to allow America and our workers to be ripped off any longer on trade," Karoline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, said.
The White House said President Trump has delivered on hundreds of his campaign promises in his first 100 days in office.
