LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The United States Postal Service reminding last-minute filers to pay special attention to collection box pick-up times and Post Office retail hours.
With the exception of the Louisville Main Post Office which closes weekdays at 9:00 p.m., most Post Offices close between 4:30 and 6:00 p.m. and many collection box pick-up times are earlier.
Mail must be deposited before the last collection time at the post office or collection box on April 15 to receive an April 15th postmark.
USPS also says those filing last minute should be cautious to double-check the pick-up schedule on envelope labels to ensure getting the April 15th postmark, deposit returns before the last scheduled pick-up time, and also that tax forms are no longer available at Post Offices.
