LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Some cartons of almond milk are being recalled in 28 states, including Kentucky and Indiana.
The maker of Almond Breeze Almond milk says it is voluntarily recalling some half-gallon cartons because the product may contain milk. Milk is an allergen not listed on the label.
The Food and Drug Administration said people who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction, if they consume these products. But the product is safe to use, if you do not have an allergy or sensitivity.
Just one allergic reaction has been reported.
HP Hood LLC said about 145,00 half-gallon cartons of the affected product were shipped to 28 states including Kentucky and Indiana.
