LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Crews at Kentucky Kingdom have made some major changes and improvements inside the park, which is still expected to open in May of next year.

Thursday, developer Ed Hart and his partners took the media and members of the fair board on a tour of the amusement park.

Crews moved in the heavy construction equipment three months ago and began renovating the park.  In that time, they've dismantled several old rides and put up a few new ones.

Hart says that May deadline won't be a problem: "Three months ago I was very confident we'd have no problem with a May opening, now I am absolutely -- absolutely confident. Any problems that were there, we have already quantified and we're all ready to go, there's no doubt in my mind that we'll be ready to go."

Hart says they'll announce more about pricing in November, but he says it will still remain below other amusement parks in the region.
