LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) - The state of Indiana has more than $22 million to give back to southern Indiana residents.

Indiana's Attorney General Greg Zoeller made a stop in Jeffersonville on Wednesday to discuss the state's unclaimed property program and show residents how they can claim their property.

Unclaimed property includes investment earnings, insurance proceeds and benefits and money from savings and checking accounts.

Residents can find out if they have unclaimed money by visiting

indianaunclaimed.gov

and searching for their names.

"We'll hold it for 25 years waiting for the rightful owner. Again, we'll go out looking as much as we can but otherwise that money will cede to the state for the benefit of the entire state," Attorney General Zoeller said.

Last year Indiana gave back $60.7 million of unclaimed property.
