LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- The USA Cycling National Championships are underway this weekend, right here in Louisville. 

The event began Thursday with time trials out in Taylorsville.

Friday and Saturday, cyclists competed in road races through Cherokee Park. 

This is Louisville's second consecutive year hosting the championships, which bring in thousands of athletes from across the country. 

Sunday will feature a NASCAR-on-bike style event known as a criterium race through downtown Louisville.
