LOUISVILLE, KyĀ -- Walmart and the Walmart Foundation say in the past fiscal year, they have donated more than $21.9 million to Kentucky non-profit organizations and programs.
The announcement was issued Wednesday in a news release.
Officials say the organizations and programs have focused on several issues including nutrition, workforce development and disaster preparedness.
The programs and organizations receiving funding includeĀ Junior Achievementās āAchieve Kentuckyā initiative, Neighborhood House of Louisville andĀ Apple Patch Community, Inc.
The donations made in Kentucky were part of a total amount ofĀ $1.42 billion given by Walmart and the Walmart Foundation throughout North America during the past fiscal year.
