Walmart and Walmart Foundation donate close to $22 million to Ky. non-profits

LOUISVILLE, Ky -- Walmart and the Walmart Foundation say in the past fiscal year, they have donated more than $21.9 million to Kentucky non-profit organizations and programs.

The announcement was issued Wednesday in a news release.

Officials say the organizations and programs have focused on several issues including nutrition, workforce development and disaster preparedness.

The programs and organizations receiving funding include Junior Achievement’s ‘Achieve Kentucky’ initiative, Neighborhood House of Louisville and Apple Patch Community, Inc.

The donations made in Kentucky were part of a total amount of $1.42 billion given by Walmart and the Walmart Foundation throughout North America during the past fiscal year.
