Freeze on federal funding could have devastating impact on Louisville child care programs

After claims of widespread fraud at Minnesota day care facilities, the Department of Health and Human Services will withhold federal funding that supports day cares until states submit new verified documentation.

Tuesday, the department's deputy secretary Jim O'Neill said all states will now have to submit justification, receipts of photos to verify that Child Care Development Fund (CCDF) dollars are being distributed to real childcare businesses.
