LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) -- Changes are coming to Interstate 65 in Bullitt County.

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet announced improvement plans Thursday for an interchange that connects I-65 and Cedar Grove Road (KY 480).

The current interchange will be made into a Double Crossover Diamond interchange, with two signalized intersections where traffic between the intersections crosses over to the left side of the road, according to KYTC.

KYTC said the project will improve access to businesses in Cedar Grove Business Park around the interchange and allow drivers to turn left when exiting or entering a ramp without stopping or crossing opposite lanes of traffic.

Work is expected to start next week and be completed in 2025. KYTC wants drivers to be aware that there may be changing traffic patterns, lane shifts and closures throughout the construction.

A company out of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, was given the $18.740 million contract to complete the project, KYTC said.
