The U.S. Postal Service in Louisville is a mess.
Nobody in charge will tell us how bad it is, but I think many Louisvillians aren't getting their critical medicine because it is lost in a bin somewhere. I think people who have paid their bills on time will be charged late fees and have their credit damaged because their outgoing checks are stuck in a box at the post office. I think there are people anxiously waiting for a check so they can pay their bills while that check is jammed in a bag at the post office. Based on the bad performance of the Louisville postal service, I think I know who our local postmaster is.
Seinfeld: NEWMAN!
I think these things, but I don't know because the real Louisville postmaster won't talk to us. He is hiding and hoping the problem will go away. Rumor has it he did stick his head out of his office last week and saw his shadow, which means six more weeks of unreliable mail service.
As the local postmaster of a government organization that affects virtually every person living in and around Louisville, he does not have the luxury of hiding and ducking tough questions. He needs to stand up and be accountable.
