The Jefferson County Public Schools school year is completed. Because of their size and scale, JCPS is easy to pick on. They also did a lot of things right. Public schools have to defend against violence more than private schools, but here’s a story that is very good.
With over 90,000 students of all kinds, in this past school year, only four guns were discovered at the gun detection stations and none made it inside a school. With the challenges facing public schools today, JCPS did an A+ job in this area.
Here's what our viewers had to say:
"I guess our school property taxes that we're paying is helping the schools."
"When you start holding parents and guardians accountable for how students act in JCPS, things will change."
"I agree with Mr. Lamb's assessment that for all its faults, JCPS has a difficult job, and they've done fairly well over the past few years and decades, especially under Doctor Pollio's recent tenure, which ended."
"A positive breath of fresh air is, oh, so invigorating. And, please don't forget Marty Pollio deserves a rousing plaudits for all of the compliments and all of the good."
