Coach Aaron Glenn is keeping the New York Jets' starting quarterback decision under wraps for their game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Glenn has refused to reveal whether Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor will start on Sunday. Fields was benched last week, and Taylor, who played the second half, is dealing with a knee injury. Both quarterbacks have been splitting practice snaps. Owner Woody Johnson criticizes the performance by Fields as a major reason for the team's 0-7 start. Meanwhile, the Jets will be without cornerback Sauce Gardner and wide receiver Garrett Wilson because of injuries.
The Cincinnati Bengals look to get back to the .500 mark when they host the winless New York Jets on Sunday. Joe Flacco has given the Bengals hope they can be competitive with franchise QB Joe Burrow sidelined after passing for 342 yards and three touchdowns in last week's 33-31 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Jets coach Aaron Glenn was contemplating his quarterback decision early in the week and didn’t want to reveal whether it would be Justin Fields or Tyrod Taylor, citing a competitive advantage. Owner Woody Johnson, speaking at the NFL owners meetings, pinned a lot of the blame for New York’s 0-7 start on the quarterback play.

The Tennessee Titans placed cornerback L’Jarius Sneed on injured reserve Thursday with a quadricep injury. This is the second straight season the Titans have put Sneed on injured reserve. He played only five games in 2024 after Tennessee traded with Kansas City for the two-time Super Bowl champ and gave him a contract that made Sneed the NFL’s fifth-highest paid cornerback at the time. An injured quadriceps muscle landed him on injured reserve last season after five games played. Sneed started training camp on injured reserve. He said in August that quadriceps injury was significant and unique, though he didn’t need surgery.

Coach Aaron Glenn says he knows who will start but isn't revealing it publicly. Tyrod Taylor, who played the second half of last week's loss to Carolina, says he doesn't know if he'll start over Justin Fields. Fields was benched after poor performances and owner Woody Johnson criticized the quarterback play. Glenn insists the decision is his, not influenced by Johnson. Taylor is on the injury report with a knee issue but feels ready to play.
Patriots coach Mike Vrabel faces a former team for the second straight week when New England hosts Cleveland. Vrabel was on Cleveland’s staff last season as a coaching and personnel consultant after getting fired by Tennessee following the 2023 season. New England comes in on a four-game win streak. To keep it going, the Patriots will be looking to continue their recent success stopping the run. Cleveland's Quinshon Judkins is leading NFL rookies with 467 rushing yards and has four carries of at least 30 yards. But the Patriots have yet to allow a back to rush for 50 yards through seven games. Browns edge rusher Myles Garrett opposite Patriots rookie left tackle Will Campbell is also a matchup to watch.

New York had a 17-point lead in the first half, fell behind after Donovan Mitchell led a comeback, then regained the lead for good with a 14-0 run early in the fourth quarter. Mitchell finished with 31 points, but the Cavaliers couldn’t pull out the win after starting last season with 15 straight en route to a 64-18 record.
The Tennessee Titans are going to be without a pair of defensive starters, including three-time Pro Bowl tackle Jeffery Simmons, because of injuries for at least a week or two. Interim coach Mike McCoy says that Sneed will miss “some time” with a quadricep injury and Simmons is week to week after hurting a hamstring in last week’s loss to New England. McCoy said they will evaluate whether injured reserve is an option for Sneed. The Titans also released veteran wide receiver Tyler Lockett. The Titans visit the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday.
Aaron Glenn knows who the New York Jets’ starting quarterback will be against Cincinnati, but he isn't revealing his plan. Josh Hart and Mitchell Robinson will be sidelined by injuries when the New York Knicks open their season Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Hart injured his lower back when he slipped to the court against Philadelphia in the preseason opener and was ruled out Tuesday with lumbar spasms. Robinson is sitting out with what the Knicks said is left ankle injury management. Robinson had ankle surgery before last season and was limited to 17 games after he returned. The center eventually replaced Hart, a swingman who had been the starter, in the lineup during the Eastern Conference finals. New coach Mike Brown hasn’t said which would start.
