University of Louisville junior linebacker Trevon Young underwent successful hip surgery in Nashville after sustaining an injury in the first quarter of the Cardinals' 27-21 win over Texas A&M on Wednesday.

It was a difficult start, and a situation Louisville coach Bobby Petrino had never found himself in before, but he led the Cardinals out of an 0-3 hole and to wins in 8 of their final 10 games, including Wednesday's Music City Bowl in Nashville.
