Jefferson County Public Schools has suspended hundreds of students per month for bus incidents since instituting a new digital referral process in November.

Superintendent Jesse Bacon said buses are an extension of the classroom, and drivers have the same authority as teachers.

Footage from the Hardin County buses will be turned over to the county prosecutor for violators to be summonsed to court.
