David Wood came under fire after he shot and killed a family dog, a Chihuahua named Abigail, after she was hit by a car this month. 

The director shot a dog in the head, and the dog's body was found in a dumpster. The director maintains he euthanized the dog, but the dog's owner said it could have been saved.

The director said, through an attorney, that he shot the dog to end its suffering. However, the dog's owner, maintains that the dog, a well-loved family pet, could have been saved.
