The family of a Louisville Metro Police detective who was killed in the line of duty got a special delivery on Monday afternoon.

LMPD Det. Diedre Mengedoht and Charlestown, Indiana, Police officer Sgt. Ben Bertram are two of 158 officers being honored who made the ultimate sacrifice.

It's a solemn fraternity where membership comes at the ultimate cost.

All of the first responders who participated wore their uniforms during the climb, including full SWAT and firefighting gear.
