Kentucky's next top educator is transitioning from managing a school district of 2,500 students to the state's entire education system of more than 600,000 students.

The bill could also potentially break up the state's largest school district.

House Concurrent Resolution 81 establishes a process to review the district's performance, including funding, district boundaries, and diversity. 

The address came as Jefferson County Board of Education weighs its options for transportation next school year as it looks for a solution to issues that have plagued Louisville's public school system since the start of this school year.
