'Ketamine Queen' gets 15 years in prison for selling Matthew Perry the drugs that killed him
A federal judge has handed down a sentence of 15 years in prison to a woman who pleaded guilty to selling “Friends” star Matthew Perry the ketamine that killed him in a 2023 overdose. Sangha is the third defendant to be sentenced of the five people who have pleaded guilty in connection with the 54-year-old “Friends” star’s death. Prosecutors had recommend a 15-year sentence for Sangha. They cast her in court filings as a “Ketamine Queen” who had an elaborate drug operation catering to high-end clients.
In 1989, an up-and-coming rock band from Washington called Nirvana played in Chicago for the first time at a club called Dreamerz. In the crowd, with a compact cassette recorder in his pocket, was a music fan named Aadam Jacobs. He surreptitiously recorded the performance, documenting the fledgling band two years before their global breakthrough. That nascent Nirvana recording, with the audio cleaned up, is available for streaming at the online repository Internet Archive. It’s one of over 10,000 concerts that Jacobs recorded over four decades. A group of devoted volunteers is methodically researching, cataloging and digitizing them one by one.

The British government has blocked the rapper formerly known as Kanye West from entering the U.K. as the controversy over his antisemitic statements led to calls for planned headline performances at a major music festival to be canceled. Ye had been expected to perform in front of around 150,000 revelers July 10-12 at the open-air Wireless Festival in London. Following the government ban on his entry to the country, the event organizers said it had been canceled. A Utah judge is expected to hear arguments on a protective order sought by a former partner against Taylor Frankie Paul, star of Hulu's “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” Paul and Dakota Mortensen are expected to participate remotely Tuesday while their lawyers appear in person. Mortensen is the father of Paul’s 2-year-old son. He is asking the court to extend a protective order. About three weeks ago ABC opted not to air a new season of “The Bachelorette” with Paul at its center. Production has also been paused on her Hulu series. It often featured Paul and Mortensen's tumultuous relationship.
