Palestinian officials say Israeli troops have killed a 7-month-old Palestinian baby in the occupied West Bank as violence surges there. Soldiers fired at the family's vehicle south of Hebron on Friday evening. The baby's father was shot in the hand. The mother also was wounded. The Israeli military said they fired at a vehicle perceived to be accelerating toward them. The father has demanded justice and rejecting the notion of a mistake. Muhammad Ali’s hometown is honoring his legacy on the 10-year anniversary of his death. The Muhammad Ali Center in Louisville held a remembrance ceremony Wednesday morning and launched a new annual event called the “Day of Compassion.” The goal is to encourage volunteer work and small acts of caring. Tens of thousands of people flocked to the streets in Louisville to see Ali’s funeral procession roll by 10 years ago. World leaders, athletes and celebrities came to Louisville to pay their respects to “The Greatest.”
The wife of late boxing legend Muhammad Ali says his legacy of compassion endures 10 years after his death. Lonnie Ali says he “showed up every day with kindness and empathy in his heart for people who are in need.” The Ali Center in his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky, is sponsoring a “Day of Compassion” this week to promote acts of service and caring.
