Jesús Sánchez hit a two-run home run to take the lead, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had three hits, and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Guardians 4-2. Guerrero led off the sixth inning with a double and Sánchez followed with his 355-foot blast to right field. It was Sánchez’s fourth homer of the season and second of the series, which the Blue Jays won two games to one. It was Toronto’s second straight series victory after dropping its previous six. Braydon Fisher worked out of a bases-loaded jam to finish the fifth and completed 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Louis Varland earned his third save.

Kazuma Okamoto homered for the second straight game, Andrés Giménez hit a two-run single and the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Cleveland Guardians 5-3. Daulton Varsho had the tiebreaking hit in Toronto’s three-run sixth inning as the Blue Jays won for just the second time in eight games against AL Central opponents. Kevin Gausman (2-1) allowed two runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings to win his second straight start as the Blue Jays bounced back from Friday’s 8-6 loss. Mason Fluharty got one out, Tyler Rogers worked the eighth and Louis Varland survived a rocky ninth inning for his second save.

Angel Martínez went deep twice for his first career multi-homer game, Daniel Schneemann added the first leadoff homer of his career and the Cleveland Guardians beat the Toronto Blue Jays 8-6.  All three home runs came off Toronto’s Max Scherzer (1-3), who allowed seven runs and six hits in 2 1/3 innings, his fourth straight winless outing. Guardians right-hander Gavin Williams (4-1) allowed six runs and seven hits in six innings for his fourth win in five starts. Hunter Gaddis pitched the seventh, Erik Sabrowski worked the eighth and Cade Smith finished for his sixth save in eight chances.
