An assailant has opened fire at a high school in southeastern Turkey before killing himself. At least 16 people were wounded. The teenager fired a shotgun randomly inside the vocational high school in Siverek, Sanliurfa province, on Tuesday. The governor said the assailant later killed himself with the same shotgun. The motive was unclear. School shootings are rare in Turkey. One student said he jumped out of the classroom window to escape the attack. All staff and students were evacuated. Video footage showed dozens of students running out of the school toward the gate and onto the street.
