Officials did not say whether those workers quit or were fired, saying in a statement that they “chose not to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and have left the organization.”

Public health officials say healthcare facilities are among the top places where people are catching COVID.

Increased transmission rates over the past several weeks have led to an increase in hospitalizations of COVID-19 patients for the areas three largest healthcare providers. 

Dr. Sarah Moyer, the health department's director, said patients will receive the same treatment whether they've been tested or not.
