Officials with the Kentucky Transportation Project said Thursday the work is staying on schedule, even with recent heavy rain in Louisville causing brief interruptions over the last week.

Preparations are underway for the upcoming closure of a five-mile stretch of I-65 for bridge replacement work, causing concerns among trucking companies like Mercer Transportation.

Several downtown Louisville streets closed Wednesday as part of a project that will shut down Interstate 65 for two months next year.
