A civil lawsuit filed in August of 2024 accused Jamey Noel of taking money and property from his late brother's children.
It comes less than a year after a state audit which reviewed Clark County Jail's commissary fund while Jamey Noel was sheriff, revealed "questionable" or "unsupported" payments totaling over $458,000.
Misty Noel faces 10 felony charges of theft and tax evasion. Her daughter Kasey is also charged.
Documents filed by the agency on Monday broke down the amount it accuses each person of unlawfully taking.
New court documents show former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel — who pleaded guilty last month to 27 felony charges — used taxpayer money to spend more than $11,000 in five years at St. Elmo's Steak House in downtown Indianapolis.
Special Judge Larry Medlock said he wants to hear from those who were impacted by the allegations in the case against former Clark County Sheriff Jamey Noel.
