Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School and Zachary Taylor Elementary School closed last week to help curb the district's $188 million deficit.

Dozens of parents, teachers and students marched through the streets of west Louisville Wednesday evening, chanting and holding signs in support of Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School.

JCPS received approximately $500 million in federal COVID relief funds, which have now largely dried up, coupled with reduced state funding.
