A natural gas leak inside the home caused the explosion last week that rocked a Jeffersonville neighborhood and hospitalized five people with life-threatening injuries.

In a matter of seconds last Wednesday, the Atkinson family’s home — and their world — was destroyed.

Jeffersonville Police said preliminary findings have "yielded no evidence of malicious intent." It's unclear if all five people injured were residents of the home.

Anyone in the neighborhood who sees, hears or smells anything out of the ordinary that could be gas should call 911 immediately.
