It's part of the Jefferson County Board of Education's effort to address what is projected to be a $188 million budget shortfall in the district's 2026-27 budget.

Superintendent Will Foster sent a letter to families last week laying out the budget issues. 

A group of students associated with the Kentucky Student Voice Team has filed a lawsuit, claiming the state has failed at providing a quality public education system.
