President Donald Trump on Friday endorsed Kentucky congressman Andy Barr in the Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by retiring Sen. Mitch McConnell, the former longtime Senate GOP leader.
Republicans Andy Barr, Daniel Cameron and Nate Morris are facing off in the Republican primary.
The debate is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Henry Clay event center and will be moderated by WDRB’s Gilbert Corsey and Lindsay Allen.
The Louisville native portrays himself as an independent Democrat willing to cut through "partisan nonsense” and tackle trade, health care and immigration.
Kentucky native and entrepreneur Nate Morris has entered the race for U.S. Senate, launching a campaign with a promise to "clean up Washington" and a direct challenge to the state’s Republican establishment.
The seat has long been held by Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell, who is not seeking reelection in 2026.
